Finding Dar es Salaam Beach & Village

Kipepeo Beach & Village our Dar es Salaam beach hotel is situated at Mjimwema (a small fishing village), on the South Coast of Dar es Salaam, 9km from the Kigamboni Pontoon which links the City of Dar es Salaam to the South coast. The pontoon crosses the mouth of Dar es Salaam harbour, departing from Kivukoni, near the fish market ,and arriving in less than 10 minutes at Kigamboni. From there you travel on a beautiful palm lined tarmac road through an area that is so undeveloped it seems that it has been forgotten by the city so close by.

Taking the Kigamboni Bridge to Kipepeo Beach Village

The quickest way to reach our Dar es Salaam beach hotel ; is using the newly opened bridge. The bridge on the Dar es Salaam side is at the port. Directions as you leave the road are as follows:

From the Toll booth to end of the tarred road – 1.05 km
Dirt road – follow straight for 1.38 km – turn left onto tar road to Kigamboni
Follow this tar road for 2.96 km – turn right at Kobil Station follow for 250 meters until the T Junction.
Turn right onto coastal road / ferry road and follow for about 8km
Karibuni Kipepeo!

Another way is to cross the Kivukoni/Kigamboni ferry which crosses the mouth of Dar es Salaam harbour. Kigamboni is a fishing village on the south side of the harbour. From there you follow the coastal road south for approx. 8km. At this point you get to a ‘Y’ in the road with an Oilcom Petrol Station right in front of you. If you reach this point you have actually gone about 20 metres too far. Reverse about 20 metres and you will see a sign on your left (seaward side) for Kipepeo Beach Village. Follow that road down towards the sea for about 1km until you reach our Dar es Salaam beach hotel .
